Tim Heidecker & Eric Wareheim

Contact Jessica Linker about Tim Heidecker & Eric Wareheim

The comedy duo of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have developed such a distinct and creative style, it’s no surprise that writers and advertising agencies across the country have essentially named a style after their bizarre brand of humor. In addition to “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!,” for which they are best known, and their first feature film, Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie, they run Abso Lutely Productions, a production team behind some of today’s most exciting and original television programs airing across three networks — Adult Swim, Comedy Central and IFC. These programs include “Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories,” “Check It Out w/ Dr. Steve Brule” starring John C. Reilly, “Comedy Bang! Bang!,” “Nathan For You,” “Birthday Boys,” and “The Eric Andre Show,” plus web series “On Cinema” and “Decker.” Additionally, Eric is a renowned director of music videos, creating videos for MGMT, Depeche Mode, Major Lazer, Flying Lotus, Maroon 5 and more, and Tim has acted in “Eastbound & Down,” “The Comedy,” and “Bridesmaids,” to name a few, and has a musical side project, Heidecker & Wood.

It’s remarkable to look at the current landscape of comedy and think back to the work Tim & Eric were doing with “Tom Goes to the Mayor” a decade ago. You really begin to realize just how much their bizarre style of discomfited humor has lead to styles used throughout television programs and even commercials, even reaching this year’s Super Bowl with the Loctite ad. If ever there was a creative force that marches to its own beat and has devotees following lockstep behind it, it’s the magic that happens when Tim & Eric put their heads together.
