Contact Jacob Daneman about Very Very Fun Day

For those who haven’t been paying attention, Maximum Fun is an independent network of artist-owned and listener-supported podcasts, celebrating comedy and culture, and dubbed by Fast Company as “one of the most popular, influential, and beloved podcasting networks.” Very Very Fun Day is a one-day podcasting festival that combines the signature joy and comedy of Maximum Fun’s internationally renowned podcasts with outstanding local talent in cities across America. On Saturday, February 11th, Maximum Fun brings Very Very Fun Day to Chicago’s Thalia Hall for an unforgettable day of laughs. VVFD will feature the Maximum Fun podcasts Judge John Hodgeman, Jordan, Jesse Go!, The Flop House, Oh No Ross and Carrie!, Tights and Fights, and Stop Podcasting Yourself, along with other festivities, including local podcasts The Nerdette, Friendshipping, and Reclaimed Soul with Ayana Contreras, stand-up comedy sets from local comics, Q&A’s, and more, all spread across Thalia Hall’s three spaces.

Judge John Hodgman:
Author, actor, and Famous Minor Television Personality John Hodgman rules on the Internet’s most pressing issues: Is a hot dog a sandwich? Is a machine gun a robot? What is the best way to rid your house of a bat infestation? All of these cases are settled law in Judge John Hodgman’s courtroom.

Jordan, Jesse, Go!:
Jordan, Jesse, Go! is a hilarious mix of the intelligent, silly and profoundly vulgar. Jesse Thorn (NPR/Maximum Fun’s Bullseye) and Jordan Morris (@Midnight) talk about feelings, sex, culture, and miniature donkeys. An iTunes staff pick and one of Rolling Stone’s ten best comedy podcasts.

The Flop House:
The Flop House is a bi-monthly audio podcast devoted to the worst in recent film. Your hosts (Elliott Kalan, Dan McCoy, and Stuart Wellington) watch a questionable film just before each episode, and then engage in an unscripted, slightly inebriated discussion, focusing on the movie’s shortcomings and occasional delights.

Stop Podcasting Yourself:
Settle in with Vancouver comedians Graham Clark and Dave Shumka for a weekly, free-form chat with hilarious guests!

Oh No Ross and Carrie:
Oh No, Ross and Carrie! is the show where Ross Blocher and Carrie Poppy don’t just report on fringe science, spirituality, and claims of the paranormal, but take part themselves. Follow them as they join religions, undergo alternative treatments, seek out the paranormal, and always find the humor in life’s biggest mysteries. They show up – so you don’t have to.

Tights and Fights:
Tights and Fights is the podcast that covers pro-wrestling with the sincerity and hilarity that it deserves. Every week, hosts Hal Lublin, Danielle Radford and Mike Eagle make sense of the chaos that is the world of sports-entertainment. Whether it’s the latest headlines, a cultural analysis of an old angle or a debate about which wrestler has the best merch, Tights and Fights will examine every corner of the squared-circle for your enjoyment.
