Brooklyn band BODEGA shares “Pillar On The Bridge Of You,” the latest single from their forthcoming album, Broken Equipment, out this Friday, March 11th, on What’s Your Rupture?, and announces a North American headline tour this summer. A love song written by founding member Ben Hozie for his “partner in romance, art, and BODEGA,” Nikki Belfigio, “Pillar On The Bridge Of You” is a sweeter turn from the band. “Our band, for the most part, has avoided pop’s universal subject matter: love,” Hozie explains, “Not because we think it an unworthy subject, but because I haven’t been sure how to approach it in BODEGA’s style.” While entirely new terrain for the band, “Pillar On The Bridge Of You” is unmistakably BODEGA, exuding an ease that relieves any hesitancy about the post-punkers putting their heart on their sleeve.

The follow-up to the band’s acclaimed debut album, Endless Scroll (2018), and 2019’s Shiny New Model EP, Broken Equipment was inspired by a book club. In the early months of 2020, the Brooklyn art-punk incendiaries gathered together with close friends to study the works of a wide range of philosophers. The resulting Broken Equipment is BODEGA’s attempt to interrogate the external factors that make them who they are, propelling existential quandaries with tongue-in-cheek humor, highly personal lyrics, and irresistible grooves.

BODEGA will tour North America in support of Broken Equipment this summer including their first hometown show in 2022 at Brooklyn Made on August 27th. Tickets are on sale this Friday, March 11th. A full list of dates is below.
