Following a busy summer of festival appearances, rising British artist Eaves Wilder shares a new single, “Freefall,” available now via Secretly Canadian. “Freefall” finds Wilder exploring shoegaze-inspired chords, pairing them with playful beats and a lag intended to recreate the tipsy walk home on a hot, sticky summer night. Written as a follow up to 2022’s “I Stole Your Jumper,” in which she fantasizes about female revenge, the new track displays Wilder in a fresh headspace. She explains, “‘Freefall’ is about pure hedonism, about wanting to feel everything and do everything at once. I wrote it the moment I realized I was ready to move on and allow myself to let go again.”

Wilder is becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new prospects. Recording, producing and releasing her own music since the age of 16, she signed to Secretly Canadian in 2021 at the age of 18 and swapped her bedroom for the studio. Her debut EP Hookey captured the turbulent experience of her teenage years, and the brightness of her future, and earned widespread praise from the NME – who included Eaves in their 2023 ‘100 List’ – The Sunday Times, Clash, Billboard, FADER, FLOOD, Brooklyn Vegan and The Line of Best Fit, in addition to extensive radio play via BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music. With a sold out three week residency at London club, The Social, and a packed summer of festival appearances at the likes of Glastonbury and Green Man, Wilder continues to build a dedicated following enamored by her effortless charm.
