Abso Lutely Productions

Abso Lutely Productions — the production company founded by Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and Dave Kneebone — announces its new record label, Abso Lutely Records, and its debut release, comedian Tim Platt’s debut album Teeth Like Beak, out today. 

A one-man Muppet who has written original music for The Tonight Show and Sesame Street, Tim Platt is a comedian (selected as one of Comedy Central’s “Up Next Variety Comedians” at Clusterfest), actor and musician based in Brooklyn, New York. His debut stand-up album mixes hilarious songs with outrageous character work, absurd one-liners with confessional stories, and genius originality with a guitar that just won’t stay in tune. Directed by Sebastian DiNatale, Teeth Like Beak was recorded live at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY on February 29th, 2024. Platt will celebrate the release tonight at Littlefield in NYC where friends will share jokes about animals prior to a Teeth Like Beak listening party.

On the heels of Abso Lutely-produced recent stand up specials for comedians John Early (Now More Than Ever), Hannah Einbinder (Everything Must Go) and Brent Weinbach (Popular Culture), Abso Lutely Records aims to provide an opportunity for up and coming comics while giving them more creative control and ownership over their process, performance and final presentation.

Abso Lutely Productions began in 2007 as a means of producing the surreal sketch comedy show, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! for Adult Swim. By prioritizing the amplification of fresh and unconventional comedic voices, Abso Lutely has since become a destination for creatives that push the boundaries of traditional comedy. Longstanding relationships within the industry have resulted in successful projects with major networks including Netflix, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, HBO, and Showtime, breaking talents, such as Nathan Fielder and Eric Andre, while producing shows for comedy veterans including Scott Aukerman, Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, and Andy Daly, to name a few. In 2023 Abso Lutely was brought under the same umbrella as the Upright Citizens Brigade uniting two of the most pioneering and respected names in comedy to build a development pipeline that unites UCB’s pool of talent and track record of incubating successful shows, with Abso’s creator-driven development process and production experience.

Trust the idea – it’s at the core of what we do,” said Kneebone. “We created Abso Lutely Records so that we can help push performances and performers that we love, but might not quickly find an audience on their own. And frankly, I love to sit and listen to comedy records. So I thought… why not? It doesn’t have to take a huge studio and a lot of red tape to put these performances out. I’m thrilled today to be releasing Teeth Like Beak by Tim Platt and I’m stoked about the stuff that’s coming up under this new label.”
